The Ballad of Custodio

Tú matastes a mi hermano y aquí te vas a morir

The Ballad of Custodio

From Sonora they came, asking through the fields
where Custodio is, as I come looking for him
They arrived at the town of Guasave and spent the whole day there
and there they were told, that he lived in the breezes.

He took a taxi, not knowing what he was charging
they passed by the burrion, with the flying car
oh poor driver, driving in fear
because he felt a little iron bothering his ribs.

When they arrived there, they left the car outside
gave him good evening, so Custodio would come out
give me a cigarette case, also a Pepsi
eas they served it to him, he pulled out his gun.

After they paid him, they invited him to drink
he gladly joined them, just let me have dinner
why do you want to have dinner, if you're going to die here
you killed my brother and here you will die.

Custodio was not a bad guy, but he fell asleep there
at the first shots, he reached for his gun
his wife came out from inside, with a little boy in her arms
they killed my husband, they shot him five times.

Get out of here woman, your crying torments me
I entrust you with my children, you know how much I love them
Gentlemen, remember, what happened in the breezes
an unknown man killed Mr. Custodio.
