The Three from Zacatecas

Los Tigres del Norte

Los Tres de Zacatecas

Había un cargamento de trescientos kilos
Que los migras atoraron
Y cuando de pronto escuché la noticia
Tan solo de cien hablaron

Oí el comentario porque estaba preso
Por ilegal fui cautivo
Mientras que lo gringos hacían el reparto
Yo estaba haciendo el corrido

A los que agarraron eran tres hermanos
De Zacatecas vinieron
Eran Juan y Pablo, y Manuel Eduardo
Y su apellido Guerrero

Decía el emigrante a los detenidos
Ya se pueden dar por muertos
Si acaso yo escucho una media palabra
Del corte del cargamento

Yo sé que la carga era de la buena
Lo supe por el aroma
En pocos minutos olía la garita
A amoniaco y acetona

Una pobre madre ansiosa espera
A los tres de Zacatecas
Tal vez con mi canto se entere algún día
Que se hayan tras de las rejas

The Three from Zacatecas

There was a shipment of three hundred kilos
That the border patrol caught
And when suddenly I heard the news
They only spoke of a hundred

I heard the comment because I was in jail
I was a captive for being illegal
While the gringos were distributing
I was writing the ballad

The ones they caught were three brothers
They came from Zacatecas
They were Juan and Pablo, and Manuel Eduardo
And their last name Guerrero

The immigrant said to the detainees
You can consider yourselves dead
If I hear even half a word
About the shipment's cut

I know the load was good
I knew it by the smell
In a few minutes, the checkpoint smelled
Like ammonia and acetone

An anxious mother waits
For the three from Zacatecas
Maybe with my song she'll find out one day
That they are behind bars
