The Black Man Is Cooking

Yo soy divorciado hace cuatro anos, no connen na

The Black Man Is Cooking

Don't knock on my door
The black man is cooking
He's seasoning the meat
And the yuca is softening

I always stay home on Sundays to rest
I prepare the potato, a guest will always come
I've been divorced for four years, not connecting with anyone
But look how my heart all the neighbors want to taste

My neighbor Paoa smells the aroma of the meat
She wants to taste it but she doesn't dare because she's very timid
She already tried the yuca I made last week
She ate three plates, didn't get full, and now she wants grilled meat

When I prepare with my guest for dinner
And she eats the plantain because she likes it to start
I feel like someone is knocking on the door as if they were beasts
It's little Elena shouting, 'Pedrito, don't leave me alone.'
