Back to the Dream
I want to go back to the dream I was dreaming,
About the boy who wouldn't go away.
He just stood with me wherever I was,
Didn't hear what people tried to say.
He wasn't much for talking,
But his eyes were clear on me.
And I surely loved to find him there
Wherever I happened to be.
There were a lot of people in that place,
And they said I was wrong, all wrong,
To put my hand against his sweet face,
And let him hang around.
I told them I wouldn't hurt him at all,
But how can a person be sure?
So I moved away to another scene
And left him standing there.
I want to go back to the dream I was dreaming,
And whatever those people would say,
I'd let him be with me as long as he likes,
And I'd never send him away,
And I'd go on dreaming all day.
De vuelta al sueño
Quiero volver al sueño que estaba soñando,
Sobre el chico que no se iba.
Simplemente se quedaba conmigo donde sea que estuviera,
No escuchaba lo que la gente intentaba decir.
No era de muchas palabras,
Pero sus ojos estaban fijos en mí.
Y seguramente me encantaba encontrarlo allí
dondequiera que estuviera.
Había mucha gente en ese lugar,
Y decían que estaba equivocada, completamente equivocada,
Por poner mi mano en su dulce rostro,
Y dejarlo merodear.
Les dije que no le haría daño en absoluto,
Pero ¿cómo puede estar segura una persona?
Así que me alejé a otra escena
Y lo dejé parado allí.
Quiero volver al sueño que estaba soñando,
Y pase lo que pase con esas personas,
Lo dejaría estar conmigo todo el tiempo que quiera,
Y nunca lo enviaría lejos,
Y seguiría soñando todo el día.
