Roma

Rome

If I had been born in Rome more than 2000 years ago,
We would live in an empire, we would have a slave.
And amphorae in the courtyard full of oil and wine.
And a marble statue dedicated to me.

If I had been born in Rome more than 2000 years ago.
Your golden hair wouldn't smell like shampoo.
We would offer bulls to the gods, toast with soldiers.
And we would be woken up by a cart, climbing the cobblestone.

And tourists take photos where you and I had breakfast.
These are the good things about passing into eternity.

And the guide shows them the mosaic of the dining room.
They are portrayed and stroll through our room.

And now a child draws in pencil in the museum hall,
The emerald bracelet that wrapped your veil.
And a diver finds our glasses and our plates.
These are the good things about passing into eternity.
