Antes que o galo cante por três vezes
Tu me negarás, disse Jesus a Pedro
E Pedro lhe falou: Te digo meu Senhor
Se preciso for, morrerei contigo
Mas não te nego, meu mestre
E na madrugada fria os soldados lhe batiam
Sem temor, sem compaixão, porém Pedro olhava
Não acreditava no que estava vendo
Então uma mulher, dele se aproximou e lhe perguntou
Tu és um deles? Tu estavas com ele?
E Pedro então negou
Porém o que Pedro via era o olhar do meigo mestre
Estava olhando em seu olhar e o galo cantou
Foi grande a dor na alma de Pedro
Como marcou o olhar de Jesus no olhar de Pedro
Pedro lembrou e até chorou de arrependimento
É assim o seu olhar, mais profundo que o mar
Mais forte que o vulcão, mais veloz do que o vento
Do que qualquer pensamento
É o olhar do meu Jesus dentro do teu coração
É assim o seu olhar, penetrante como a espada
Brilha mais que o diamante

The pain in Peter's soul was great

Peter remembered and even cried in repentance

Stronger than the volcano, faster than the wind
