That's Him

Marcos Vidal

CORO

y yo no le conocia
me abian contado otra historia

CORO

That's Him

He was small and inexperienced
and a little big-eared and to top it off that helmet that looked like a funnel
in the first bite
he didn't see the sword coming and screamed in terror
as he felt his ear detach
and fear overwhelmed him completely
he didn't even see the teacher who silently approached

CHORUS

Because he cares affectionately for the fallen soldier
he understands the wounded because he himself has suffered

under the light of dawn when morning awakens
the silhouette of a man alone on the beach was drawn
and in the small boat a tired fisherman
jumped into the water and swam to meet his lord
ready to bear his punishment
but when he faced his eyes he experienced forgiveness

CHORUS

and I didn't know him
I had been told a different story
of a tyrant and distant god comfortable in his glory
but when in my night I felt his wounded hand
I discovered his eyes of kindness
without reproach or accusation
affection like a child's heart
producer of peace and water
and the feeling of home

CHORUS
