Strolling Through the Backlands

Mastruz Com Leite

Passeando Pelo Sertão

Passeando em poesia pelo sertão
Me encontrei com melodias de verão
Vi o sol forte no meu rosto a tocar

Vi sinfonia em plena madrugada
Vi o canto, cantar da passarada
Vi o amor bem mais forte, vi paixão

Vi vaqueiro levando sua boiada
Aboiando e cantando pra sua amada
Que sorrindo estava a lhe esperar

Vi mulheres santas vestidas de Maria
Que no Sol forte todo dia
Iam pra roça trabalhar

Vi o romance do Sol e da Lua
O Sol declamando pra deusa Lua
Todo seu amor

Vi caboclo tocando sua viola
E uma sanfona tocando, toda hora
Animando o meu sertão
Animando o meu sertão

Strolling Through the Backlands

Strolling in poetry through the backlands
I met with summer melodies
I saw the strong sun touching my face

I saw a symphony in the middle of the night
I saw the birds singing their song
I saw love much stronger, I saw passion

I saw a cowboy leading his cattle
Mooing and singing to his beloved
Who was smiling, waiting for him

I saw holy women dressed as Mary
Who under the strong sun every day
Went to work in the fields

I saw the romance of the Sun and the Moon
The Sun reciting to the goddess Moon
All his love

I saw a countryman playing his guitar
And an accordion playing, all the time
Cheering up my backlands
Cheering up my backlands
