No caminho de Emaús
Dois discípulos iam conversando
A respeito de Jesus
Os dois iam comentando
Um sentimento profundo
E os olhos se lacrimando
Nisto apareceu um homem
Dos dois foi se aproximando
Aquele homem peregrino
Perto deles foi chegando
Cumprimentou todos os dois
Os três foram caminhando
E aqueles dois discípulos
Continuou conversando
Aquele homem perguntou
"De quem vocês vão falando?"
E um daqueles dois discípulos
Pr'aquele homem respondeu
O senhor não está sabendo
Tudo que aconteceu?
Hoje é o terceiro dia
Que esse povo judeu
Por maldade e covardia
Mataram o Filho de Deus
Aquele homem respondeu
Com toda sabedoria
Será que vocês não lembram
Do que os profetas diziam
Este Jesus nazareno
Que foi morto há poucos dias
Que ia ressuscitar
Dentro do terceiro dia
Quando chegou na aldeia
Pra onde os discípulos ia
Aquele homem despediu
Mas os discípulos dizia
" Fica com nós esta noite
Porque já termina o dia "
Aquele homem ali entrou
Naquela moradia
Foi no partir do pão
O milagre aconteceu
O rosto daquele homem
Uma luz resplandeceu
E aqueles dois discípulos
Foi então que compreendeu
Que aquele homem era Jesus
E Ele desapareceu

On the road to Emmaus
Two disciples were talking
About Jesus
The two were commenting
A deep feeling
And eyes watering
Then a man appeared
He got closer to the two
That pilgrim man
He got closer to them
Greeted them both
The three walked
And those two disciples
Continued talking
That man asked
"Who are you talking about?"
And one of those two disciples
To that man he replied
You don't know
Everything that happened?
Today is the third day
That these Jewish people
Out of evil and cowardice
They killed the Son of God
That man replied
With all wisdom
Don't you remember
What the prophets said
This Nazarene Jesus
Who was killed a few days ago
That would be resurrected
Within the third day
When he arrived at the village
Where did the disciples go?
That man fired
But the disciples said
"Stay with us tonight
Because the day is already over"
That man came in
In that house
It was in the breaking of bread
The miracle happened
That man's face
A light shone
And those two disciples
It was then that he understood
That that man was Jesus
And He disappeared
