The light in the kitchen is blue
And it makes everything come true
I wash my hands in the sink
Like they don't belong to me
There is a fly in the window frame
It keeps hitting the same place
I don't help it get out
I just listen to the sound
You said you'd come by at night
I check the clock all the time
But time doesn't move here right
It bends in the blue light
I open and close the fridge
Just to feel something shift
Cold air on my face
Like a small kind of grace
I don't think about you
Not the way I used to
Just your shoes by the door
That aren't there anymore
The light hums overhead
I sleep here instead
On the kitchen floor
Where you stood before
And the fly finally stops
I don't notice when it drops
I just turn off the light
And disappear for the night

La lumière dans la cuisine est bleue
Et ça rend tout possible
Je me lave les mains dans l'évier
Comme si elles ne m'appartenaient pas
Il y a une mouche dans le cadre de la fenêtre
Elle tape toujours au même endroit
Je ne l'aide pas à sortir
Je me contente d'écouter le bruit
Tu as dit que tu passerais la nuit
Je regarde l'horloge tout le temps
Mais le temps ne passe pas ici
Il se plie sous la lumière bleue
J'ouvre et ferme le frigo
Juste pour sentir quelque chose bouger
L'air froid sur mon visage
Comme une petite grâce
Je ne pense pas à toi
Pas comme avant
Juste tes chaussures près de la porte
Qui ne sont plus là maintenant
La lumière bourdonne au-dessus
Je dors ici à la place
Sur le sol de la cuisine
Où tu te tenais avant
Et la mouche finit par s'arrêter
Je ne remarque pas quand elle tombe
Je coupe juste la lumière
Et je disparais pour la nuit
