La barchetta in mezzo al mare
è diretta a Santa Fè
dove va per caricare
mezzo chilo di caffè.
La comanda un capitano
dalla barba rossa e blu,
fuma il sigaro toscano
che proviene dal Perù.
Ha molto coraggio
perchè l'equipaggio
in quella barchetta
non c'è.
Il nostro brav'uomo
fa il cuoco e il nostromo,
fa il mozzo
e s'aggiusta il gilè.
La barchetta in mezzo al mare
deve andare assai lontan
ma per farla navigare
ci pensa il capitan.
Proprio laggiù in alto mare
c'è una barchetta piccina,
ad ogni ondata s'inclina
quasi dovesse affondar.
Le vele dipinte di rosso
son piccole più del timon
e l'albero non è più grosso
di un esile vecchio baston.
Ha molto coraggio
