Jellyfish

Nicolas Chamillet

Deep waters, something in you
I see you walking along the shore
Demons on my shoulders
Telling me to run in the opposite direction

I tread on quicksand
While waters flood what's left of me
Some things should stay buried like the Titanic

Like jellyfish
Burning in the blue of the ocean
Your eyes cut my skin
It's a sweet pain, a disturbing happiness
I'm stung every time you exist
Yes, jellyfish burn, and so do you
Leaving marks I'll pretend are tattoos
I sink, but I still can't resist
Your love hits me like a jellyfish

When I was little
My mother always said
If it's burning, it's because it's healing
And I know that these salty waters
Burn like fire
And I know I'm healing all my wounds

I tread on quicksand
While waters flood what's left of me
Some things should stay buried like the Titanic

Like jellyfish
Burning in the blue of the ocean
Your eyes cut my skin
It's a sweet pain, a disturbing happiness
I'm stung every time you exist
Yes, jellyfish burn, and so do you
Leaving marks that I'll pretend are tattoos
I sink, but I still can't resist
Your love hits me like a jellyfish

They are anarchies and monuments
Flooded by dangerous waters
Now I know how to recognize
The crystalline blue glow
Of the waters that once belonged to someone

Like jellyfish
Burning in the blue of the ocean
Your eyes cut my skin
It's a sweet pain, a disturbing happiness
I'm stung every time you exist
Yes, jellyfish burn, and so do you
Leaving marks that I'll pretend are tattoos
I sink, but I still can't resist
Your love hits me like a jellyfish
