Christmas in black and white
A teenage girl, a Nazarite
Who loves Yahweh and does what's right
Is visited by an angel
She's terrified, mystified
'Til he clarifies that he's here to prophecy
"Fear not, you are highly favored of God.
The Lord is with you."
Still Mary was greatly troubled by his words
And wondered what kind of greeting this might be
And he said, "Do not be afraid Mary,
For you have found favor with God.
You will be with child and will give birth to a son and you are to call His name Jesus.
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High...
Mary replied, "How can these things be since I have not yet been with a man?"
The angel answered and said,
"The Holy Spirit shall come upon you,
And the power of the Most high shall overshadow you,
So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.
Even Elisabeth, your relative, is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
For nothing is impossible with God."
"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered.
"May it be to me as you have said."
Then the angel was gone.

Y él dijo, “No temas, María,
Porque has hallado favor ante Dios.
Concebirás y darás a luz un hijo y le pondrás por nombre Jesús.
Será grande y será llamado Hijo del Altísimo...
María respondió, “¿Cómo puede ser esto si aún no he estado con un hombre?”
El ángel respondió y dijo,
“El Espíritu Santo vendrá sobre ti,
Y el poder del Altísimo te cubrirá con su sombra,
Por lo tanto, el Santo que nacerá será llamado Hijo de Dios.
Incluso Isabel, tu pariente, va a tener un hijo en su vejez, y la que se decía estéril está en su sexto mes.
Porque para Dios no hay nada imposible.”
“Soy sierva del Señor,” respondió María.
“Que se cumpla en mí según tu palabra.”
Entonces el ángel desapareció.
