Amores Viejos
Esas minas veteranas
que nunca la protestaban,
sin morfar se conformaban
aunque picara el buyón;
viviendo así en un cotorro,
pasando vida fulera,
con una pobre catrera
que le faltaba el colchón.
Cuántas veces el mate amargo
al estómago engrupía,
y pasaban muchos días
sin que hubiera pa' morfar;
la catrera era el consuelo
de esos ratos de amargura,
que a causa e' la mishiadura
se tenían que pasar.
Ya no existen esas minas
que sólo se conformaban
con lo que'l amigo les daba
siendo amigo de verdá;
hoy sólo quieren vestidos
y riquísimas alhajas,
coche de capota baja
pa' pasear por la ciudá.
Old Loves
Those veteran chicks
who never complained,
were content without eating
even if the hunger bit;
living in a hovel,
having a tough life,
with a poor woman
who lacked a mattress.
How many times the bitter mate
duped the stomach,
and many days went by
without anything to eat;
the poor woman was the comfort
in those bitter moments,
that due to misfortune
had to be endured.
Those chicks no longer exist
who were satisfied
with what their friend gave them
being a true friend;
today they only want dresses
and very rich jewels,
a carriage with a low top
for a ride around the city.
