Chacarera of the Mishki Mayu

Raly Barrionuevo

Chacarera Del Mishki Mayu

Por los montes de Santiago
corre una cinta plateada
y esos campos que atraviesa
parece que se adornaran.

Con su aroma, con sus flores
la selva ofrece pagarle,
añuritay mishki mayu
por el agua que has de darle.

De donde vienes agüita
que pareces tan cansada,
de allacito desde lejos,
desde las cumbres nevadas.

Chacarera ribereña,
chacarera del río dulce,
que no falte una guitarra
ni un buen criollo que te pulse.

El que cante junto al río,
cante siempre a media voz,
así cantan los zorzales
será porque así es mejor.

El sonckoy que anda en amores
se parece al río crecido.
ay vidita, quién diría
llenito de remolinos.

Cuando el río lleva espuma
sabido es que está creciendo.
ay viditay, quién pudiera
saber si me andás queriendo.

Chacarera of the Mishki Mayu

Through the mountains of Santiago
runs a silver ribbon
and those fields it crosses
seem to be adorned.

With its aroma, with its flowers
the jungle offers to pay it,
Añuritay Mishki Mayu
for the water you must give it.

Where do you come from, little water
that you seem so tired,
from far away,
from the snowy peaks.

Riverside chacarera,
sweet river chacarera,
may there be no lack of a guitar
or a good countryman to play it.

Whoever sings by the river,
sing always in a low voice,
that's how the thrushes sing
maybe because it's better that way.

The sonckoy in love
resembles the swollen river.
Oh dear, who would say
full of whirlpools.

When the river carries foam
it is known that it is rising.
Oh dear, who could
know if you are loving me.
