Settled Ground
With time comes the comfort
With age the understanding
That everything and everyone i love
Will find its way away from me
Someday.
I'll be left with my own emptiness
My own solitude to face
Look into the void and dig out
A way to endure the insincerity of half hearted pleas
That swear it's only to save me.
To find solace in the clouds,
Or embrace what's left of the settled ground.
Grit my teeth, close my eyes and breathe deep.
I can almost hear them say
"he's where he wants to be."
Reach down and grab his hand
If i could just hear his laugh again.

Con la edad la comprensión

Me quedaré con mi propia vacuidad
Mi propia soledad para enfrentar
Mirar al vacío y sacar
Una forma de soportar la insinceridad de súplicas a medias
Que juran que es solo para salvarme.
Hallar consuelo en las nubes,
O abrazar lo que queda del terreno asentado.
Aprieto los dientes, cierro los ojos y respiro profundo.
Casi puedo escucharlos decir
'él está donde quiere estar'.
Extiendo la mano y la agarro
Si tan solo pudiera escuchar su risa de nuevo.
