creatures of ambition
we're here to conquer all
men of our own making
who are free to take a fall
confounded by our wisdom
to the point of no return
we're teaching all the lessons
we ourselves have never learned
a little bit lower than the angels

unless we are discovered by
the one who holds the truth
so why would you wait
to be forgiven, free from your mistakes
this is your moment to stand and be amazed

time is quickly passing
and we know it won't be long
till we stand before our maker
and we speak on how we've lived
and all he has created
will be standing by to hear
crying out for mercy
will be all we can do
unless we've been discovered by

you can go back to the day of your innocence
