Playing shows and writing songs could've been much more than you can get out of sitting around and being unproductive.
There's a lot more than being like the other kids. At least I have something to do with myself. Did you ever notice how sometimes you take for granted what you need, like having friends and good times and never losing touch? But I guess you found something else to hold on to, like a girl or money or being bitter to the end.
I'd like to think of the days when we didn't have to, and everything that ever meant some to you? You only thought you had to circle so far, and then come back down to sacrifice this one last thing.

Hay mucho más que ser como los demás niños. Al menos tengo algo que hacer conmigo mismo. ¿Alguna vez notaste cómo a veces das por sentado lo que necesitas, como tener amigos y buenos momentos y nunca perder el contacto? Pero supongo que encontraste algo más en qué aferrarte, como una chica o dinero o ser amargado hasta el final.
Me gustaría recordar los días en que no teníamos que, ¿y todo lo que alguna vez significó algo para ti? Solo pensabas que tenías que dar vueltas tan lejos, y luego regresar para sacrificar esta última cosa.
