Echoes of Kattegat

Scarlet Cross

In the cold lands of the north, beneath the Kattegat sky
Two paths crossed where the biting winds cry
He, a young farmer with his eyes on the horizon
She, a fierce shield-maiden, with courage like a lion
Between the harvest of the earth and the handling of the blade
A fierce love was born, a sacred vow was made
Ragnar and Lagertha, bound by destiny's hand
Forging their own path through fire and the land

From the plow to the crown, from blood unto glory
Ragnar and Lagertha, eternal in story
Warriors of the north, rulers of the wild sea
A love that neither death nor time could set free

The hunger for horizons drew the longships to the west
And the ambition of a king put their power to the test
Lagertha by his side, shield against shield
Conquering kingdoms, making empires yield
But the throne demands a price, the crown weighs on the brow
Paths split apart beneath the same sky now
Lives scarred by loss, by betrayal and pain
Yet deep within their eyes, the old embers remained

From the plow to the crown, from blood unto glory
Ragnar and Lagertha, eternal in story
Warriors of the north, rulers of the wild sea
A love that neither death nor time could set free

Age and fate eventually claim the final toll
Ragnar in the pit of snakes, an immortal soul
Screaming to the gods, laughing through the pain
Waiting in Valhalla for his love again
And Lagertha, the queen, in the autumn of her life
By the breath of destiny, was taken from the strife
Blood upon the snow, the final breath is drawn
The cycle is complete, the myth carries on

Now the halls of Odin celebrate their names
The farmer and the shield-maiden, beyond earthly claims
Apart upon the earth, now together in the gold
Ragnar and Lagertha, the greatest tale ever told
On the wings of the ravens, they fly in peace
