My Bed is Made

Silvio Rodriguez

Mi lecho está tendido

Mi lecho está tendido,
me has hecho un gran favor
pero en el sitio en que
estaba dormido
no encontré mi corazón.

Dónde me lo guardaste
que has hecho al fin con él
hiciste tu labor y te marchaste
y ahora ya no sé querer.

No quiero tal favor,
deja en su lugar a ese corazón.
Deja a mi viejo en su escondite,
puede que aún lo necesite.
No lo despojes de su amparo,
vaya favor para ser caro.

Hoy me tendiste lecho
para después volar,
hoy te llevaste el
mundo de mi pecho,
hoy la aurora es soledad

My Bed is Made

My bed is made,
You've done me a big favor
But in the spot where
I was sleeping
I couldn't find my heart.

Where did you hide it?
What did you finally do with it?
You did your job and left,
And now I don't know how to love.

I don't want such a favor,
Leave that heart where it belongs.
Leave my old one in its hiding place,
I might still need it.
Don't strip it of its shelter,
What a favor to be so costly.

Today you made my bed
Just to fly away later,
Today you took the
World from my chest,
Today dawn is loneliness.
