Si dicha voluntad no tuviese incidencia alguna
The Deepest of Solipsisms
Some believe that reconciling my clear idea of will
With a deterministic view of the cosmos is impossible
We'll see that this is actually a mistake
That leads them to speculate my judgment is incompatible
How can I believe in the responsibility
Of my actions if my reflections are mechanistic?
Is it that I don't care to think with contradictions
Or that I say inaccuracies based on how the track sounds?
To these people, I would say to observe their sight
To give them a replaceable sensory example
Perhaps scrutiny will throw more than one clue
That makes my reasoning comprehensible to them
If they have the slightest scientific training
They'll know that colors are just light waves
Vibrating each at a singular frequency
Which our ocular organ then translates
How is it possible that despite this knowledge
You still see color and movement instead of frequencies?
Does believing in an illusion that presents itself to the senses
Imply a contradiction?
Isn't our reality what we perceive through them?
And did this change after we learned of its genesis?
Though the curtain indicates it's fiction
Our attention won't focus on questioning the reality of the function
If one has enough coherence
To not deny an evident principle of non-contradiction
They'll see that by assuming everything is determined
There’s no possible opposition that transcends that state
That is to say, no human act or thought
Can escape the causal chain for even a moment
And anyone who thinks they can deny it with their action
Only confirms the rule and believes they’re the exception
Only in 2 possible ways do they deliberate
Those who think they’re free from determinism
With a shallow awareness of their way of acting
Or with an ego that leads them to believe they’re the first cause
After their paralogism, the truth
They contradict determinism out of ignorance or vanity
For their denial is nothing but, in reality
A convenient rejection of the principle of causality
You’re just a weak and egocentric guy
So don’t insist, you’re also a determinist
No matter how much self-importance you cling to
This logical reflection I present as an artist
Whoever intends to have a tree knows that first
They must bury its seed in the ground
Later they’ll provide care like watering
And a well-fertilized newspaper for it to grow strong
Whoever wants to get fit and stop being fat or sickly
Will exercise to change their physical state
(Exercises focused on enhancing hypertrophy)
They’ll eat well and avoid junk food
Whoever wants to save a certain amount
Will reduce their spending in pursuit of that goal
And if their self-denial isn’t enough
They’ll have to invest or make the right business move
That is to say, every individual strives to perform acts
So that these are the cause of production
Of a future objective, intending that the impact
Of the generated cause leads to its achievement
How can it be correct then
To deny determinism and follow the law of cause and effect?
Is it due to a misuse of intellect
Or an excess of arrogance this irrationality I detect?
Are they so arrogant or joking on purpose?
They think they’re the causes of what happens to them
And yet, they don’t hesitate to deny
The existence of prior causes that could determine them
They can only maintain their assertion
By denying that others share their same power of causation
And I can confirm, for that very reason
That they live in the deepest and most delusional solipsism
Whoever believes they have no cause, but generates them
Directly claims to be the first cause
Should we lock them up in a psychiatric ward for being crazy
Or bow down to them? Because calling them God is an understatement
Those who believe their will is an objection
Refuting determinism with determination
Are merely making a fruitless attempt at refutation
Proposing an argument that gives the opposite reason
For assuming you can deny my accusation
You assume the causation of your denial
It would be wiser to say nothing
And after a long pause admit you’re not an uncaused cause
Do you see that you’re also a determinist in the end
But you believe in a one-way determinism
That only operates at a segment of the timeline
That is, in the future, for personal convenience?
There’s an excessive pretense of deity
In that you don’t accept possible predestination
That inexorably affects the course of your life
And conversely, you assume that doing so is understandable
The essence of these 2 statements is incompatible
And to any well-formed reason, it’s evident
That what you say is unsustainable
No matter how much your vocal cords make the unspeakable phonetic
Let’s see, you hold the following
That being determined by unavoidable causes isn’t coherent
Yet, you find it feasible and evident
That your actions in the present have consequences
Assuming that at one moment you are the source of your act
What makes you think you were going to be it later?
For if your will is indeed efficient
You must have predestined your future beforehand
If that will had no impact at all
Being only an effect, tell me, you olive-brained
How do you think you have will in such a case
Knowing that every act you produce self-drives to failure?
For what will, without shame
Recognizes it can’t operate on itself or its surroundings?
Think, the brain has never been a good ornament
And shows that there’s something inside beyond its outline
You firmly believe I deny freedom, however
Perhaps the next reflection will unbalance you
Though I know it’s not in my hands to want what I want
As long as I can do what I want, I’ll be free
Keep your judgment far from all patheticness
Without resorting to an absurd and crude compatibilism
An irrationality that some egocentric accepts
Out of fear of accepting determinism
The logical flaw of this assumption is colossal
As it brings with it a very evident paralogism
That I won’t bother to point out once more
Since I already laid it out in the verses I recited earlier.
