Life Goes By

Life Goes By

They see her walk by, from corner to corner,
the men stare, they want to have her youth,
she offers it, doesn’t matter who.

From a blue car, the door swings open,
without hesitation, she walks over,
it's a man,
she leaves with him,
indifferent, life goes by.

She writes in her letters, to her family, that
she's the boss's secretary, in an office, that it’s a
great job, everyone likes her, that she’s going to
send some money, next month, that
she misses home a lot, and that she loves them.

They see her pass by in the early morning,
her youth looks tired,
the reality, her loneliness,
indifferent, life goes by.

She writes in her letters, to her family, that
she's the boss's secretary, in an office, that it’s a
great job, everyone likes her, that she’s going to
send some money, next month, that
she misses home a lot, and that she loves them.
