Solo Against the World

Traviezoz De La Zierra

Solo Contra El Mundo

Empecé y a puro batallar

Solo Against the World

Sure, life on the ranch is a struggle
I had to throw in the towel 'cause I couldn't see the future
And I always worked my ass off
At fifteen, I felt grown up
My old man gave it his all
And always did what he could

I had to head to the city
I wanted to get ahead but couldn't find a way
I hustled everywhere I could
All alone like a dog on the street
They invited me to mess around when I hit the border

I wanted to send a buck to my folks
So I hit the road
I wanted to make a Pharisee dance
But I didn't have a dime
And as soon as the crook said, jump
Without thinking, I took a leap

I couldn't find anyone to turn to
To get ahead, my knees were buckling
In the end, it was for the sodas
I crossed over several times, deaf to the noise
No way I was gonna be ashamed if that was the trend

I didn't want any dirty money
I had a dream since I was a kid and it had to take flight
I started out and fought my way through
Of course, I'll never forget
Those December days when I lost my dad

Even though I've got a knot in my throat
I keep my head held high
Here I come, solo against the world
But don’t think I’m backing down
Today, if there's one thing I can be sure of
It's that there's nothing like the ranch
