Um dia Deus falou com Simeão
E fez uma promessa em seu coração
Você não morrerá, sem antes conhecer o salvador
O tempo foi passando até demorando
E nada da promessa se cumprir
Eu até imagino Simeão se perguntando
Será que Deus se esqueceu de mim!
Já estou ficando velho, sem ver nenhum sinal
Todo dia vou ao templo está tudo tão igual
Como sacerdote eu já consagrei
Muitos meninos ao senhor, nenhum deles é o rei
O escolhido que virá, salvar a humanidade
O que foi prometido pra livrar-nos da maldade
Aquele que será a glória de Israel
Será que os meus olhos verão o filho de Deus?
Mas de repente, entra no templo Maria e José
Trazendo consigo Jesus, Sim é Ele Mesmo, o próprio Jesus
Simeão o toma nos braços, e louva a Deus eu vivi
Para ver o que me prometeu, agora eu já posso descansar no senhor
Os meus olhos estão vendo o salvador
Eu Vivi para ver esse menino
Eu vivi pra pegar nos braços o salvador
Eu vivi para ser parte dessa história
Eu vivi pra ver Deus fazer o que me falou
Eu vivi pra ver Deus no corpo de uma criança
Peguei em meus braços a própria Esperança
Eu vivi para ver o fim das trevas chegando
Eu vi no meu colo a luz do mundo brilhando
Eu vivi para ver
Não desista de acreditar, não desista de esperar
Não desista um dia você vai ver
Deus fazendo o que disse que iria fazer
Persevera, Deus está trabalhando

Celebrar com os seus, vai viver pra dizer, quem fez isso foi Deus

De Deus jamais hão de passar, você vai viver
Vai viver pra ver, tudo o que Deus vai fazer!
I Lived to See
One day God spoke to Simeon
And made a promise in his heart
You won’t die before you meet the Savior
Time went by, dragging on
And the promise still unfulfilled
I can just imagine Simeon wondering
Has God forgotten about me!
I’m getting old, without a single sign
Every day I go to the temple, it’s all the same
As a priest, I’ve consecrated
Many boys to the Lord, none of them the King
The chosen one who will come, to save humanity
The one promised to free us from evil
The one who will be the glory of Israel
Will my eyes see the Son of God?
But suddenly, Mary and Joseph enter the temple
Bringing with them Jesus, Yes, it’s Him, the very Jesus
Simeon takes Him in his arms, and praises God, I lived
To see what He promised me, now I can rest in the Lord
My eyes are seeing the Savior
I lived to see this child
I lived to hold the Savior in my arms
I lived to be part of this story
I lived to see God do what He told me
I lived to see God in the body of a child
I held in my arms the very Hope
I lived to see the end of darkness coming
I saw in my lap the light of the world shining
I lived to see
Don’t give up on believing, don’t give up on waiting
Don’t give up, one day you will see
God doing what He said He would do
Persevere, God is working
Don’t be afraid, keep dreaming
You too will live to see
God doing what He said He would do
You will live to see the promises fulfilled
You will live to prepare a feast and to rejoice
Celebrate with your own, you’ll live to say, it was God who did this
You will live, you’ll sing the miracle, you will live to testify
You will live to be another one to say that the words
Of God will never pass away, you will live
You will live to see, everything God will do!
