Something is Happening to My Hero

Víctor Manuelle

Algo Le Pasa a Mi Héroe

Something is Happening to My Hero

Something is happening to my hero, something is happening
I only see an emptiness in his gaze
Something is happening to my hero, he says nothing
He doesn't repeat the stories he used to tell me

Something is happening to my hero, he lost his strength
He no longer pronounces my name, he doesn't remember it
Neither his body nor his mind are what they used to be
It seems like he's floating among the stars

Unintentionally, he entered a world
Where there are no sorrows or glories
Every step he takes
Erases a memory
I see that the tree of his life
Slowly loses its leaves
And that oak that was strong
Collapses over the years

I talk to him about us
About the things we experienced
That I have the same name as him
And carry his last name
That he gave me two siblings
I am deeply grateful to him
Because he has been the best father
A child could have

He listens to me but doesn't speak to me

Something is happening to my hero, where would he go
The one who was my example, my guide
He has turned into a child, who would have thought
Now it's our turn to take care of him as he did for us

Unintentionally, he entered a world
Where there are no sorrows or glories
Every step he takes
Erases a memory
I see that the tree of his life
Slowly loses its leaves
And that oak that was strong
Collapses over the years

And my mother dedicates to him
Every hour of her day
Keeping the promise
To love him for a lifetime
And the grandchildren are growing up
The family is getting bigger
And if his eyes could speak
He would surely say
That he still knows us

Something is happening to my hero, something is happening
