De los aires vallenatos
la puya es la más templá
creo que vengo preparado
pa´poderla ejecutá
Aunque muy poco es grabada
dizque porque no se vende
pero hay que tener presente
que hay que saberla tocá
La puta vallenata esta olvidá
porque nadie la quiere ya grabá
con la puya se alegra el festival
sin la puya no se puede ganá
Canto y toco el acordeón
que es la única herencia mía
quiero mucho este folclor
que es parte de mi alegría
Por eso sigo tocando
son, paseo, merengue y puya
como soy buen provinciano
la toco con sabrosura
