The Daughter of No One

Yolanda Del Rio

The Daughter of No One

A glass of wine and poison
By a criminal twist of fate
With blindfolded eyes they drank
Two who always showed each other love
Only this way would they find the cure
That would give them peace and forgetfulness

They didn’t know they were siblings
Until much later, they fell in love
Like few in the world, they loved each other
Because it was their fate and their luck
To stop following sin
They decided on a pact of death

The cruelest parents are guilty
Who never deserved to be men
They go around deceiving women
And denying their kids a name
I don’t understand why they don’t die
Before they do harm and betrayals

I too am the daughter of no one
I only have a last name
I have to thank my mother
I’ve never known my father
I think he must be a coward
Like many who have come to this world

The cruelest parents are guilty
Who never deserved to be men
They go around deceiving women
And denying their kids a name
I don’t understand why they don’t die
Before they do harm and betrayals
