Their Own Sight
Woe to those who call evil good
- and good evil
Woe to those who put darkness for light
- and light for darkness
Woe to those who put bitter for sweet
- and sweet for bitter
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
- and prudent in their own sight
But they do not regard the work of the Lord
Nor consider the operation of His hand
Therefore as fire devours the stubble
So their root will be as rottenness
Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of Hosts
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel
For all this His anger is not turned away
He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar
Therefore my people have gone into captivity
Because they have no knowledge
Their honorable men are famished
And their multitude dried up with thirst
A Su Propia Vista
¡Ay de aquellos que llaman al mal bien
- y al bien mal!
¡Ay de aquellos que ponen la oscuridad por la luz
- y la luz por la oscuridad!
¡Ay de aquellos que ponen lo amargo por lo dulce
- y lo dulce por lo amargo!
¡Ay de aquellos que son sabios a sus propios ojos
- y prudentes a su propia vista!
Pero no consideran la obra del Señor
Ni toman en cuenta la operación de Su mano
Por lo tanto, como el fuego devora la paja
Así será su raíz como podredumbre
Porque han rechazado la ley del Señor de los Ejércitos
Y han despreciado la palabra del Santo de Israel
Por todo esto Su ira no se aparta
Él levantará una bandera a las naciones desde lejos
Por eso mi pueblo ha ido al cautiverio
Porque no tienen conocimiento
Sus hombres honorables están hambrientos
Y su multitud se ha secado de sed
