A Tree And It's Fruit
Enter Ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit;
but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bringeth forth evil fruit,
neither can a corrupt tree bringeth forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not good fruit is hewn down,
and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruit ye shall know them.
Not everyone that saith unto me, lord, lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, lord, lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
And in thy name have cast out devils?
And in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then i will profess unto them, I never knew you:
Depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine,
and doeth them. I will liken him unto a wise man,
which built his house upon a rock; and it fell not;
for it was founded upon a rock.
And everyone that heareth that heareth these sayings of mine,
and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man,
which built his house on the sand.
And the rain descended, and the floods came,
and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; And it fell, and great was the fall.
Un árbol y su fruto
Entrad por la puerta estrecha:
porque ancha es la puerta y espacioso el camino,
que lleva a la perdición, y son muchos los que entran por él;
porque estrecha es la puerta y angosto el camino,
que lleva a la vida, y pocos son los que la encuentran.
Cuidado con los falsos profetas, que vienen a vosotros con vestidos de oveja,
pero por dentro son lobos rapaces.
Los conoceréis por sus frutos.
¿Acaso se recogen uvas de los espinos, o higos de los cardos?
Así, todo árbol bueno da buenos frutos;
pero el árbol corrupto da frutos malos.
Un buen árbol no puede dar frutos malos,
ni un árbol corrupto puede dar frutos buenos.
Todo árbol que no da buen fruto es cortado,
y echado al fuego. Así que por sus frutos los conoceréis.
No todo el que me dice: Señor, Señor, entrará en el reino de los cielos;
sino el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos.
Muchos me dirán en aquel día: Señor, Señor, ¿no hemos profetizado en tu nombre?
¿Y en tu nombre hemos echado fuera demonios?
¿Y en tu nombre hemos hecho muchos milagros?
Y entonces les declararé: Nunca os conocí;
apartaos de mí, hacedores de maldad.
Por tanto, todo aquel que oye estas palabras mías,
y las pone en práctica, será semejante a un hombre prudente,
que edificó su casa sobre la roca; y no cayó,
pues estaba fundada sobre la roca.
Y todo aquel que oye estas palabras mías,
y no las pone en práctica, será semejante a un hombre insensato,
que edificó su casa sobre la arena.
Y descendió la lluvia, vinieron las crecidas,
los vientos soplaron y golpearon aquella casa; y cayó, y fue grande su caída.
