Ana, mulher angustiada, a sua inimiga a irritava
Porém o Senhor tinha lhe serrado a madre
Não podia ter filhos
O sacerdote Eli não a compreendeu
E disse: Até quando estarás embriagada?
Porém Ana respondeu e disse
Não meu Senhor, sou uma mulher
Atribulada de espírito
Não tenho bebido bebida forte ou vinho
Porém tenho derramado
A minha alma perante o Senhor
Então respondeu Eli e disse: Vai em paz
E o Deus de Israel te conceda a tua petição
E Ana levantou, de madrugada adorou
Elcana conheceu a Ana e dela o Senhor se lembrou
Ana chorou nos pés do Senhor
Ana orou, a oração Deus ouviu
A madre de Ana o Senhor abriu
E o filho nasceu pra ser do Senhor, para sempre

Ana, troubled woman, her enemy would provoke her
But the Lord had closed her womb
She couldn't have kids
The priest Eli didn't understand her
And said: How long will you be drunk?
But Ana replied and said
No, my Lord, I'm a woman
In deep anguish of spirit
I haven't been drinking strong drink or wine
But I've been pouring out
My soul before the Lord
Then Eli answered and said: Go in peace
And may the God of Israel grant your request
And Ana rose up, worshiped at dawn
Elcana knew Ana, and the Lord remembered her
Ana cried at the Lord's feet
Ana prayed, and God heard her prayer
The Lord opened Ana's womb
And the child was born to be the Lord's, forever
