Numa manhã de inverno, no final do mês de agosto
Chegou no quintal de casa magricelo pele e osso
Um cãozinho ainda filhote desprezado pelo dono
Demonstrando ser bravio enfrentou fome e frio
No mais cruel abandono
Eu adotei o cãozinho com a permissão de meus pais
A amizade entre nós cresceu cada dia mais
Quando o amor fala mais alto desconhece a razão
Ficou grande forte e belo
E por ter o pelo amarelo, pus o nome de leão
Era um fiel companheiro sempre em minha defesa
Certo dia fui nadar com meus irmãos na represa
Num vacilo que eu dei comecei me afogar
Gritei por Deus me ajude, o leão pulou no açude
E conseguiu me salvar
Quando chegamos na margem latindo se sacudia
Depois lambia meu rosto vibrando de alegria
Chorei olhando pro céu e agradeci a lição
Deus está sempre na frente pra nos dar a proteção
Se chegar em sua casa não deixe de ajudar

Four-Legged Angel
On a winter morning, at the end of August
A scrawny little dog showed up in my yard
A puppy, neglected by his owner
Facing hunger and cold, he showed his brave heart
In the cruelest abandonment
I adopted the pup with my parents' permission
Our friendship grew stronger every single day
When love speaks louder, it ignores all reason
He grew big, strong, and beautiful
And since he had golden fur, I named him Lion
He was a loyal companion, always had my back
One day I went swimming with my brothers at the dam
In a slip-up, I started to drown
I cried out, "God help me!" and Lion jumped in the water
And managed to save me
When we reached the shore, he shook off the water, barking
Then he licked my face, bursting with joy
I cried looking up at the sky and thanked for the lesson
God is always ahead to give us protection
