Yesteryear
It seems, nothings ever as good as it used to be,
Yesteryear seemed like such a good year for me,
And I see that you've matured, but so have I,
And I hate, how everyone's gotten older,
Now they're just more distant and colder,
Nostalgic to the past,
Childhood days.
Yesterday I was a boy, exited over the latest toy,
And to play with it in the bathtub,
And now I look back to the past, and see those good times don't last,
What's the hope for my future?
These were the best things that happened to me,
I know I'll cherish these memories.
And now all my friends have all moved away,
Which will account for cloudier days,
Ahead in my life, or so it seems,
Well I guess, I just gotta stop my whining,
All my sad thoughts and wistful pinings,
To be back when I was cool,
Cause now I suck.
Yesterday I was a young man, with my friends devising plans,
To be mischievious on video.
And as I look back to those years, I shower them with my tears,
And I hope I'll never see them again.
