It took me a while to get used to the slow smoky style of this number. iris tramm's first song. it's now one of my favorites. iris has a dog, a german shepherd named meadows, who is an important character in the story. she sings to him about her disillusionment with men, hence the refrain " that's why i live with my dog." the song hints that nevertheless falling for norman paperman. at coconut grove iris sang to an amazingly lifelike puppet dog, whitch all but upstaged her, and won the audience affection all though the evening.

Me tomó un tiempo acostumbrarme al estilo lento y ahumado de esta canción. La primera canción de Iris Tramm. Ahora es una de mis favoritas. Iris tiene un perro, un pastor alemán llamado Meadows, que es un personaje importante en la historia. Ella le canta sobre su desilusión con los hombres, de ahí el estribillo 'por eso vivo con mi perro'. La canción insinúa que, sin embargo, se enamora de Norman Paperman. En Coconut Grove, Iris cantó a un perro títere increíblemente realista, que casi le robó el protagonismo y se ganó el cariño del público durante toda la noche.
