Time As Surrogate Religion
Hell-bent on standardization;
on Cartesian deliverance.
Time is the primary socializing tool.
Indelibly imprinted and structurally biased.
We are domesticated creatures of technical abstraction.
If rationalism/reductionism is our religion,
then time keeping is our benediction.
Reified and ratified in fixed ideas and
solid state circuitry.
This baptism took place on the hinges
of history by the faithful
who made repression a cardinal requisite.
By the faithful who made the timepiece as holy as the cross.
Hell-bent on standardization: the wheel keeps turning and we all turn with it.
El Tiempo Como Religión Sustituta
Obsesionados con la estandarización;
con la liberación cartesiana.
El tiempo es la herramienta principal de socialización.
Impreso indeleblemente y sesgado estructuralmente.
Somos criaturas domesticadas de abstracción técnica.
Si el racionalismo/reduccionismo es nuestra religión,
entonces llevar el tiempo es nuestra bendición.
Reificado y ratificado en ideas fijas y
en circuitos de estado sólido.
Este bautismo tuvo lugar en las bisagras
de la historia por los fieles
que hicieron de la represión un requisito cardinal.
Por los fieles que hicieron del reloj tan sagrado como la cruz.
Obsesionados con la estandarización: la rueda sigue girando y todos giramos con ella.
