A Morte Que Deu Vida
Transformou água em vinho, fez cego enxergar
Curou os leprosos, fez paralitico andar
Falava de amor aos que andava sós
E todos ouviam sua meiga voz muitos milagres ele operou
Até multidões alimentou ele era adorado
Como filho de Deus
Mas foi morte de cruz o que o povo lhe deu
Que queres que eu te faça o senhor perguntou
Vai em paz minha filha tua fé te salvou
Com uma só palavra podia sanar
E com um só olhar podia libertar
Mas entre os seu tinha um traidor
Que por trinta moedas ele o entregou
Conduziram a morte o dono da vida o meu salvador
E perante Pilatos que o interrogou insultando
E gritando ele nada falou manda o povo dizer
Manda o povo escolher Barrabás ou Jesus é quem tem que morrer
E em uma só voz todo povo gritou solta a Barrabás
Prende o salvador e levando as mãos
Ele se retirou o inocente agora culpado ficou
E entregue aos romanos, Jesus foi levado como um pecador
E chegando ao lugar chamado calvário
Ali o crucificaram bem como aos malfeitores
Um a direita e o outro a esquerda, contudo Jesus dizia
Pai, perdoa-lhes porque não sabem o que fazem
Então repartindo vestes dele lançaram sorte
E por volta da hora sexta, clamou Jesus
Em alta voz dizendo até a hora nona
Clamou Jesus: Eli, eli lama sabaquitane
Deus meu, Deus meu, porque me desamparaste?
E um dos que estavam ali logo correu a buscar uma esponja
E tendo a embebido e colando na ponta de um caniço deu-lhe a beber
E outra vez clamando Jesus dizendo
Pai, nas tuas mãos entrego o meu espírito
E eis que o véu do templo se rasgou em duas partes
De alto a baixo a natureza não suportou fenderam as terras
Tremeu as terras e fenderam-se as rochas
Vendo o centurião o que aconteceu disse
Era verdade, era o filho de Deus
Então um dos soldados seu lado furou
E logo de uma vez sangue e água jorrou
Sepultaram Jesus em sepulcro fechado em um túmulo novo
Ele foi bem guardado, o inimigo pensou
Que naquela peleja ele tinha ganhado
E no terceiro dia foram perfumar o corpo de Jesus já não estava lá
E Maria chorando logo perguntou
Onde está meu senhor, onde o colocou
Não está mais aqui pois já ressuscitou nessa grande peleja
Ele foi vencedor pois a sua palavra não falha
Jamais ele venceu a morte venceu satanás
Trouxe a salvação a quem não merecia trouxe vida e paz

The Death That Gave Life
He turned water into wine, made the blind see
Healed the lepers, made the paralyzed walk
Spoke of love to those who walked alone
And everyone heard his gentle voice, he performed many miracles
Even fed crowds, he was adored
As the son of God
But it was death on the cross that the people gave him
What do you want me to do for you, the Lord asked

But among his own he had a traitor
Who for thirty coins betrayed him
They led the owner of life, my savior, to death
And before Pilate who interrogated him insulting
And shouting he said nothing, let the people say
Let the people choose Barabbas or Jesus, who has to die
And in one voice all the people shouted release Barabbas
Arrest the savior and raising his hands
He withdrew, the innocent now guilty
And handed over to the Romans, Jesus was taken as a sinner
And arriving at the place called Calvary
There they crucified him along with the criminals
One on the right and the other on the left, yet Jesus said
Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do
Then dividing his garments they cast lots
And around the sixth hour, Jesus cried out
In a loud voice saying until the ninth hour
Jesus cried out: Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
And one of those who were there quickly ran to get a sponge
And having soaked it and putting it on the end of a stick gave him to drink
And again crying out Jesus said
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit
And behold, the temple veil was torn in two
From top to bottom, nature could not bear it, the earth shook
The earth trembled and the rocks split
Seeing the centurion what happened he said
It was true, he was the son of God
Then one of the soldiers pierced his side
And at once blood and water flowed
They buried Jesus in a closed tomb in a new tomb
He was well guarded, the enemy thought
That in that battle he had won
And on the third day they went to perfume Jesus' body, he was no longer there
And Mary crying asked
Where is my Lord, where have they put him
He is no longer here for he has risen in this great battle
He was victorious because his word does not fail
He never defeated death, he defeated Satan
He brought salvation to those who did not deserve it, brought life and peace
