A Doce Luz
Eu nas trevas vagueava
Sem a luz da retidão;
A minha alma estava morta,
E eu, sem fé no coração.
Mas um dia a sua graça
Deus mandou e a doce luz;
Vi então caminho claro,
Sim, ouvi o meu Jesus.
Dentro em mim meu 'homem velho'
Contra a retidão lutou;
Mas Jesus comigo estava,
Santamente me guiou.
Foi um novo nascimento,
Honra e glória ao Redentor!
Ele deu-me luz e vida,
Santidade e seu amor.
Como é triste andar em trevas,
Sem perdão do Salvador!
Bela é a vida, mas a vida
Dominada pelo amor.
The Sweet Light
I wandered in the darkness
Without the light of righteousness;
My soul was dead,
And I, without faith in my heart.
But one day His grace
God sent and the sweet light;
I then saw a clear path,
Yes, I heard my Jesus.
Within me my 'old man'
Fought against righteousness;
But Jesus was with me,
Holy, He guided me.
It was a new birth,
Honor and glory to the Redeemer!
He gave me light and life,
Holiness and His love.
How sad it is to walk in darkness,
Without the forgiveness of the Savior!
Life is beautiful, but life
Is dominated by love.
