Oh Father, make me a Brendan soul,
out on the vast expanse to roll,
where dolphins lead in cresting dance,
and bowsprit lunges like a lange.
Leviathan do bask and spray,
in shining waters all the day,
West upon the whale paths slow,
we follow on thy will to know.
Oh Jesus, make me a Brendan soul,
through galsst caverns tall,
past crystal mountains in the night,
emergent in the Northern light.
Upon the waves Lord, we are cast,
and by the wind our sails are lashed,
over salty foam we ride,
enduring tempest and the tide.
Oh Spirit, make me a Brendan Soul,
Thy Holy Island is our goal,
white martyrdom across the sea,
into thy arms go willingly.
Great Trinity of love and power,
beacon of light in death's dark hour,
so shine brighter as we roam,
and pilot us, safely home.
