Os discípulos viram Jesus
E seguiram o Filho de Deus
Bendito o Deus de Israel
Que seu povo visitou
E deu-nos libertação
Enviando um Salvador
Da casa do rei Davi
Seu ungido servidor
Cumpriu a voz dos profetas
Desde os tempos mais antigos
Quis libertar o seu povo
Do poder dos inimigos
Lembrando-se da aliança
De Abraão e dos antigos
Fez a seu povo a promessa
De viver na liberdade
Sem medos e sem pavores
Dos que agem com maldade
E sempre a ele servir
Na justiça e santidade
Menino, serás profeta
Do Altíssimo Senhor
Pra ir à frente aplainando
Os caminhos do Senhor
Anunciando o perdão
A um povo pecador
É Ele o Sol Oriente
Que nos veio visitar
Da morte da escuridão
Vem a todos libertar
A nós seu povo remido
Para a paz faz caminhar
Ao nosso Pai demos glória
E a Jesus louvor, também
Louvor e glória, igualmente
Ao Espírito que vem
Que nosso louvor se estenda

Behold the Lamb of God!
The disciples saw Jesus
And followed the Son of God
Blessed be the God of Israel
Who visited his people
And gave us liberation
Sending a Savior
From the house of King David
His anointed servant
He fulfilled the voice of the prophets
From ancient times
He wanted to free his people
From the power of enemies
Remembering the covenant
Of Abraham and the ancients
He made a promise to his people
To live in freedom
Without fears and terrors
From those who act with evil
And always serve Him
In justice and holiness
Child, you will be a prophet
Of the Most High Lord
To go ahead, smoothing
The paths of the Lord
Announcing forgiveness
To a sinful people
He is the Rising Sun
Who came to visit us
From the death of darkness
He comes to liberate all
To us, His redeemed people
He leads to peace
To our Father we give glory
And to Jesus praise as well
Praise and glory, equally
To the Spirit that comes
May our praise extend
