Foi de Betânia para Jerusalém
Fazer a Páscoa, Jesus com seus amigos
E padecer a favor do nosso bem
Antes da ceia, Jesus a seus discípulos
Lavou os pés com grande contentamento
Durante a ceia Jesus anunciou
Com grande gosto o seu novo mandamento
Foi pão e vinho que Jesus Deus aos discípulos
"Comei o pão, é meu corpo" diz Jesus
" Tomai, bebei, este vinho é meu sangue
É minha vida, que por vós darei na cruz! "
Depois da ceia, Jesus subiu ao horto
E foi fazer três horas de oração
Suando sangue, de tristeza e agonia
Bebendo o cálice do Pai com decisão
Chegando Judas, à frente de uma tropa
Com falsidade beija seu divino Mestre
Jesus lhe diz: " Eu conheço a falsidade
Por este beijo, que agora tu me deste "
Então, a turma dirige-se a Jesus
Para prendê-lo a maldade é demais
E assim conduz a Jesus, de mãos atadas
Até a casa de Anás e de Caifás

Pedro discípulo, valente, corajoso
Tinha jurado a Jesus fidelidade
Jesus dissera: " Antes que o galo cante
Tu negarás ser discípulo da verdade "
Pedro, de longe, seguia a Jesus
Quando no pátio do palácio se aquentava

Três vezes Pedro a seu mestre já negara
Jesus passava perto de onde Pedro estava
Olhou pra ele com verdade e compaixão
Reconheceu Pedro sua grande falta
E chorou pranto de imensa contrição
Perante o grande conselho da nação
As testemunhas entre si não concordaram
Caifás pergunta e, então, Jesus responde
"Por que perguntas? Sempre eu falei ás claras!"

Passion of the Lord's Song
On Thursday, Jesus with his disciples
Went from Bethany to Jerusalem
To celebrate Passover, Jesus with his friends
And suffer for our good
Before the supper, Jesus to his disciples
Washed their feet with great joy
During the supper, Jesus announced
With great pleasure his new commandment
It was bread and wine that Jesus gave to the disciples
"Eat the bread, it is my body," says Jesus
"Take, drink, this wine is my blood
It is my life, which I will give for you on the cross!"
After the supper, Jesus went up to the garden
And prayed for three hours
Sweating blood, with sadness and agony
Drinking the cup of the Father with determination
Judas arrived, leading a group
With deceit, he kisses his divine Master
Jesus says to him: "I know the falsehood
By this kiss that you have given me"
Then, the group goes to Jesus
To arrest him, the wickedness is too much
And so they lead Jesus, hands tied
To the house of Annas and Caiaphas

Peter, the disciple, brave, courageous
Had sworn fidelity to Jesus
Jesus had said: "Before the rooster crows
You will deny being a disciple of the truth"
Peter, from afar, followed Jesus
When in the palace courtyard he warmed himself

Three times Peter had already denied his master
Jesus passed by where Peter was
Looked at him with truth and compassion
Peter recognized his great fault
And wept tears of immense contrition
Before the great council of the nation
The witnesses did not agree among themselves
Caiphas asks and then Jesus answers
"Why do you ask? I have always spoken clearly!"
