Why do words like "love" and actions of affection
Get taken as a threat or promise of devotion
Instead of just accepted for the beauty that they have?
When you tell someone that you love them
They act like you're taking away all their freedom
But it's giving, it's not taking away.
Love and friendship don't restrict and bind
Those chains are only in your mind
It doesn't have to be that way.
People act like it's something to be ashamed of
To lock away or hide behind closed doors
This kind of secrecy only breeds social scheming,
Gossip, lies, and misunderstanding
It doesn't seem that appealing to me.
Why do words like "love" and actions of affection

With all kinds of weird connotations?
Words will fuck us up enough by themselves.

En lugar de ser simplemente aceptadas por la belleza que poseen?
Cuando le dices a alguien que lo amas
Actúan como si les estuvieras quitando toda su libertad
Pero es dar, no quitar.
El amor y la amistad no restringen ni atan
Esas cadenas solo están en tu mente
No tiene que ser así.
La gente actúa como si fuera algo de lo que avergonzarse
Para encerrar o esconder detrás de puertas cerradas
Este tipo de secreto solo engendra intrigas sociales,
Chismes, mentiras y malentendidos
No me parece muy atractivo.
¿Por qué palabras como 'amor' y acciones de afecto
Son tomadas como una amenaza o promesa de devoción
En lugar de ser simplemente aceptadas por la belleza que poseen?
¿Por qué desangrar todo el significado de las emociones
Con todo tipo de extrañas connotaciones?
Las palabras nos joderán lo suficiente por sí solas.
