Um Mundo Melhor
Uma vez teve um incêndio na floresta
E os animais fugiam sem parar;
E o leão, na confusão, franziu a testa
Quando viu o beija-flor ficando lá,
Indo ao rio e pegando em seu biquinho
Um pouquinho d'água pra jogar
No incêndio, bem maior que passarinho
E o leão se interessou em perguntar:
"Por que é que você tá fazendo isso,
Se esse fogo é muito grande pra você?"
"Faço isso por que essa é a minha parte,
Eu lamento que você não quer fazer".
Esse exemplo de responsabilidade
Cada um de nós devia ter:
Bastam gotas de boa vontade
Pra que a gente possa então fazer...
Um mundo melhor
Pro futuro não ser mais apenas utopia
Pra esperança se realizar a cada dia
Pra que os nossos pais
Não tenham mais preocupações,
Pra todas as tribos, raças e nações
Mais pra maioria, menos para minoria,
A melhor maneira de fazer democracia.
Pra que todos possam ter a sua liberdade,
Liberdade mas sem irresponsabilidade.
Onde a gente não precise mais pedir ajuda;
Onde tudo pra melhor o tempo todo muda;
Pra gente só viver o amor e não fazer mais guerra;
Pro seres vivos, habitantes do planeta terra
Pra aqueles que trabalham para um novo mundo
Onde não exista medo nem por um segundo;
Há onde ninguém mata pra matar a fome
Pros homens de bem, e pro bem dos homens.
Pra consciência dos que tem tudo nesta vida,
Pra quem não tem nada, nem um prato de comida:
Um mundo melhor
A Better World
Once there was a fire in the forest
And the animals were fleeing nonstop;
And the lion, in the confusion, furrowed his brow
When he saw the hummingbird staying there,
Going to the river and picking up with its beak
A little water to throw
On the fire, much bigger than a bird
And the lion became interested to ask:
"Why are you doing this,
If this fire is too big for you?"
"I do this because this is my part,
I'm sorry that you don't want to do it."
This example of responsibility
Each of us should have:
Just drops of goodwill
So that we can then do...
A better world
For the future not to be just utopia
For hope to come true every day
So that our parents
Don't have more worries,
For all tribes, races, and nations
More for the majority, less for the minority,
The best way to make democracy.
So that everyone can have their freedom,
Freedom but without irresponsibility.
Where we no longer need to ask for help;
Where everything changes for the better all the time;
For us to only live love and no longer make war;
For living beings, inhabitants of planet Earth
For those who work for a new world
Where there is no fear even for a second;
Where no one kills to end hunger
For good men, and for the good of men.
For the conscience of those who have everything in this life,
For those who have nothing, not even a plate of food:
