Things Will Get Better

I look out the window
and it makes me feel so down,
the spring has passed by
who knows if it’ll come back

The joker was a king
and the prophet was a joker
and I forgot the way
but I’m still here

And things will get better
things will get better, yeah
sometimes I break down
so the night
oh the night
I’m left here with you

Kids are wearing wings
and flying to the army
and after two years
they come back with no answers

People live in a mess
looking for a reason to breathe
and between hate and murder
they talk about peace

And things will get better...

(Yeah) up there in the sky
clouds are learning to fly
and I look up above
and see the planes go by

A government of generals
dividing up the view
for them and for us
and we don’t see/when we’ll see the end

Here comes the president of Egypt
how happy I was to meet him
pyramids in my eyes
and peace in my heart

And we said let’s finish it
and we’ll live like brothers
and then he said forward,
just get out of the shadows

And things will get better...

We’ll still learn to live together
between the olive tree groves
kids will grow up without fear
without borders, without shelters

On graves, the grass will bloom
for peace and love
after a hundred years of war
and hope hasn’t died yet

And things will get better...

I look out the window
maybe it’ll come/maybe it’ll reach, yeah it’ll reach,
a new day
