Stardust
It takes some time to realise
The traps you lay are not exclusive to your enemies
You can’t control where people go
Inside, a table stretches into the horizon
Where a family sits in silence
As if it doesn’t matter now
Inside the walls they’re sat waiting in front of piles of stardust
Bodies made of stardust
And all the eyes are on me
I hear a voice of lost patience
Tearing all the gleam away
I’ll end my days in stardust
If I don’t learn from their mistakes
I step onto the stage
You take my hand and ask me not to change
You said I’m afraid of what they’ll take
And every night it ends
I’m waking up at home
But there’s salvation in the stardom
Or my mind has grown a conscience of its own
When we’re lonely we can always dim the lights
Paint a new disguise and close our eyes
And there it disappears
Inside the walls I keep a journal to remind me of my fears
My ball and chain
There is life inside
But nowhere to begin
I let it out to let the stardust in
What a time to be alive
Find the thing you love and let it crush the ones you love
At least the end is not your burden
You’ll never see how much it hurts
I’m leaning in to see myself
How did I get here?
What could make me lose my focus?
My mirror image walks away
But every night I recreate
The silence in the stardust
I give my family stardust
But this is getting harder
Either its fame or it’s failure
And a longing to escape
I’ll end my days a godess
Or a cautionary tale
It’s running from your life
Compassion’s not enough to steer me right
If they don’t understand what hides inside
And every night it ends

Se necesita tiempo para darse cuenta
Las trampas que colocas no son exclusivas de tus enemigos
No puedes controlar a dónde van las personas
Dentro, una mesa se extiende hasta el horizonte
Donde una familia se sienta en silencio
Como si no importara ahora
Dentro de las paredes están sentados esperando frente a montones de polvo de estrellas
Cuerpos hechos de polvo de estrellas
Y todos los ojos están en mí
Escucho una voz de paciencia perdida
Arrancando todo el brillo
Terminaré mis días en polvo de estrellas
Si no aprendo de sus errores
Subo al escenario
Tomas mi mano y me pides que no cambie
Dijiste que tengo miedo de lo que me quitarán
Y cada noche termina
Despierto en casa
Pero hay salvación en la fama
O mi mente ha desarrollado una conciencia propia
Cuando estamos solos siempre podemos atenuar las luces
Pintar un nuevo disfraz y cerrar los ojos
Y allí desaparece
Dentro de las paredes mantengo un diario para recordarme de mis miedos
Mi bola y cadena
Hay vida adentro
Pero no sé por dónde empezar
Lo dejo salir para dejar entrar el polvo de estrellas
Qué momento para estar vivo
Encuentra lo que amas y deja que aplaste a quienes amas
Al menos el final no es tu carga
Nunca verás cuánto duele
Me inclino para verme a mí misma
¿Cómo llegué aquí?
¿Qué podría hacerme perder el enfoque?
Mi imagen en el espejo se aleja
Pero cada noche recreo
El silencio en el polvo de estrellas
Doy a mi familia polvo de estrellas
Pero esto se está poniendo más difícil
Ya sea fama o fracaso
Y un anhelo de escapar
Terminaré mis días como una diosa
O una historia de advertencia
Es huir de tu vida
La compasión no es suficiente para guiarme correctamente
Si no entienden lo que se esconde dentro
