Madera y Tierra

Dear Ephesus

Wood and Dirt

yesterday i pushed the shovel into my gut
digging down deep to find the gaping emptiness

that was me without You
that was me without You

and so now i will just lay here
cool and composed, decomposed
boxed in by all the wood and dirt
less than the sum of all my parts

today i looked into my eyes reflection
and saw that my vision was indeed my blindness

that was me without You
that was me without You
(smiling face to say goodbye)
that was me without You
(covered pain to place the lie)
that was me without You
(lifted head out for the rain)
that was me without You
(dirt left tears around the drain)

Madera y Tierra

Ayer empujé la pala en mi vientre
Cavando profundamente para encontrar el vacío abismal

ese era yo sin Ti
ese era yo sin Ti

y ahora simplemente me quedaré aquí
tranquilo y compuesto, descompuesto
