Failure To Communicate
It's hard sometimes to speak my mind
A sympathetic ear is never easy to find
In a world where we're taught to be quiet and obey
Is there any wonder why we don't have much to say?
When religious wars are being fought to the death
If you're speaking for god my friend you're out of your depth
When it's the same kind of message you're trying to preach
You talk about love and you talk about peace
But somewhere along the line your wires are crossed
And somewhere along the line your message is lost
Now everybody's talking
And i think that what is missing
Is ability to listen to what is being said
Instead of blankly nodding your head
Ignoring what you hear cos you're waiting
For your chance to speak
They'll blame it on love
They'll blame it on hare
I call that a failure to communicate
Fracaso en la comunicación
A veces es difícil expresar lo que pienso
Una oreja comprensiva nunca es fácil de encontrar
En un mundo donde nos enseñan a estar callados y obedecer
¿Acaso es sorprendente que no tengamos mucho que decir?
Cuando se libran guerras religiosas a muerte
Si estás hablando en nombre de Dios, amigo, estás fuera de tu alcance
Cuando es el mismo tipo de mensaje que intentas predicar
Hablas de amor y hablas de paz
Pero en algún punto tus cables se cruzan
Y en algún punto tu mensaje se pierde
Ahora todos están hablando
Y creo que lo que falta
Es la habilidad de escuchar lo que se está diciendo
En lugar de asentir en blanco
Ignorando lo que escuchas porque estás esperando
Tu oportunidad para hablar
Lo atribuirán al amor
Lo atribuirán a la prisa
Yo llamo a eso un fracaso en la comunicación
