Oliphant
A man thought he was an elephant, he’d be learning to fly
He started stretching his wings, just to give it a try
‘N’ all the birds would sing in support of a guy
Who tought he was an elephant learning to fly
He’d be learning fast for an elephant, he’d be getting somewhere
‘N’ all the birds would agree this man had talent to spare
Up to a certain degree, one could even declare
It takes a man to be the first elephant to conquer the air!
Then came the rainy season down zoo city south
‘N’ to the heavens above, the hunter made himself a vow
To track down the elephant… To put his feet on the ground
Crashing in on a dream from the top on down
Who is he to think an elephant isn’t much of a man?
Just like learning to fly isn’t much of a plan?
For these thoughts to be forsaken ‘n’ forever banned?
For their rights to be taken by pop’lar demand?
He would have made a nice elephant, not just your average guy
But now he’s coming of age without putting up much of a fight
This man’s reduced to tears when he looks up to the sky
Everytime an elephant comes flyin’ by

Un hombre pensó que era un elefante, estaría aprendiendo a volar
Comenzó a estirar sus alas, solo para intentarlo
Y todos los pájaros cantarían en apoyo de un tipo
Que pensaba que era un elefante aprendiendo a volar
Estaba aprendiendo rápido para ser un elefante, estaba llegando a algún lugar
Y todos los pájaros estarían de acuerdo en que este hombre tenía talento de sobra
Hasta cierto punto, uno podría incluso declarar
¡Se necesita un hombre para ser el primer elefante en conquistar el aire!
Luego llegó la temporada de lluvias a la ciudad zoológica del sur
Y hacia los cielos arriba, el cazador se hizo una promesa
De rastrear al elefante... De poner sus pies en el suelo
Estrellándose en un sueño de arriba abajo
¿Quién es él para pensar que un elefante no es mucho hombre?
¿Así como aprender a volar no es mucho plan?
¿Para que estos pensamientos sean abandonados y prohibidos para siempre?
¿Para que sus derechos sean arrebatados por demanda popular?
Habría sido un buen elefante, no solo tu tipo promedio
Pero ahora está llegando a la edad adulta sin ofrecer mucha resistencia
Este hombre se reduce a lágrimas cuando mira hacia el cielo
Cada vez que un elefante pasa volando
