O Martírio de Jó
Existia na terra de Uz, um certo homem chamado Jó
Obediente e temente a Deus, com os filhos seus servia ao Senhor
Em sua casa era maravilha, mas um certo dia tudo mudou
Jó perdeu casa, perdeu a família, o lar querido desmoronou
Jó sofreu grande dor, grande decepção
Foi ferido por chagas, cobre também
A mulher querida, que tanto amava
Cansou de sofrer, ficou desesperada
Jó, Jó estamos perdidos!
Nossos filhos já morreram
Todos eles! As nossas ovelhas!
O nosso gado também!
Jó, perdemos nossas fazendas
E tu, o que dizes, Jó?
Amaldiçoa teu Deus
E morra, homem!
Como uma doida, assim farás tu, mulher!
Eu nasci nu, hoje estou vestido
Oh, grande Deus, grande Deus, grande Deus!
Jó foi humilhado, mas não blasfemou
Foi sempre fiel, servindo ao Senhor
Seremos fiéis, na luta, na dor
Seguindo o exemplo que Jó nos deixou
The Martyrdom of Job
In the land of Uz, there was a man whose name was Job
Obedient and God-fearing, he served the Lord with his children
At home, everything was wonderful, but one day everything changed
Job lost his house, lost his family, his beloved home crumbled
Job suffered great pain and great disappointment
He was wounded by sores, it also covers
The beloved woman, whom he loved so much
She got tired of suffering, she became desperate
Job, Job, we are lost!
Our children have already died
All of them! Our sheep!
Our cattle too!
Job, we lost our farms
And you, what do you say, Job?
Curse your God
And die, man!
Like a madwoman, that's what you'll do, woman!
I was born naked, today I am clothed
Oh, Great God, Great God, Great God!
Job was humiliated, but he did not blaspheme
He was always faithful, serving the Lord
We will be faithful, in struggle, in pain
Following the example that Job left us
