My Baby And My Wife
When twilight shadows are falling
And my day's work is done
Tis then i wind my way back to my home
And the light i find there shining
Like a guiding star to me
To show me the right road from the wrong
It's there a girl is waiting
With a baby on her knee
And to see them it just fills my heart with joy
Because i truly love them
They mean the world to me
It's my wife and my precious baby boy
And when our meal is over
We're sitting by the fire
And the baby crawls around there on the floor
My thoughts then turn to heaven
And i thank the lord above
For the blessings he has let come in our door
I know i'm not deserving
The blessings he has sent
I try and try and yet i go astray
But i will keep on praying
For the lord to help me be
The man i want my boy to be someday
The time just rolls right on around
The clock is striking nine
And the baby is a yawning now and then
My wife she gently picks him up
And starts to rocking him
I can feel a tugging at my heart within
His head up on her shoulders
Her neck his arms entwine
His eyelids are heavy as can be
Then he gives up the struggle
And snuggles close to her
It's a sight that's worth more
Than this world to me
Then when he is in dreamland
She tucks him in his bed
And side by side we two kneel down and pray
We ask the lord in heaven
To watch our darling boy
And to help him walk the straight and narrow way
At times this world seems dreary
And hardships come my way
As i struggle on through this life
But my cares all just vanish
When i reach that little home
To be greeted by my baby and my wife

Cuando las sombras del crepúsculo caen
Y mi jornada laboral ha terminado
Es entonces cuando camino de regreso a mi hogar
Y la luz que encuentro allí brillando
Como una estrella guía para mí
Para mostrarme el camino correcto del incorrecto
Allí una chica está esperando
Con un bebé en su regazo
Y verlos solo llena mi corazón de alegría
Porque realmente los amo
Ellos significan el mundo para mí
Es mi esposa y mi precioso bebé varón
Y cuando nuestra comida ha terminado
Estamos sentados junto al fuego
Y el bebé gatea por el suelo
Mis pensamientos entonces se vuelven hacia el cielo
Y agradezco al Señor allá arriba
Por las bendiciones que ha dejado entrar por nuestra puerta
Sé que no soy merecedor
De las bendiciones que ha enviado
Intento y trato y aún así me desvío
Pero seguiré orando
Para que el Señor me ayude a ser
El hombre que quiero que mi hijo sea algún día
El tiempo simplemente sigue avanzando
El reloj está marcando las nueve
Y el bebé bosteza de vez en cuando
Mi esposa lo levanta suavemente
Y comienza a mecerlo
Puedo sentir un tirón en mi corazón
Su cabeza en sus hombros
Sus brazos en su cuello se enredan
Sus párpados están pesados como pueden estar
Entonces él se rinde en la lucha
Y se acurruca cerca de ella
Es una vista que vale más
Que este mundo para mí
Luego, cuando está en el mundo de los sueños
Ella lo arropa en su cama
Y lado a lado los dos nos arrodillamos y rezamos
Pedimos al Señor en el cielo
Que cuide a nuestro querido niño
Y lo ayude a caminar por el camino recto y estrecho
A veces este mundo parece sombrío
Y las dificultades llegan a mi camino
Mientras lucho en esta vida
Pero todas mis preocupaciones desaparecen
Cuando llego a ese pequeño hogar
Para ser recibido por mi bebé y mi esposa
