Crossing the Gate

Fernando & Sorocaba

Passando a Porteira

Eu coloco as minhas mãos pro céu
E agradeço por ter muito
Muito mais do que eu mereço

Me dói na partida

É sempre a mesma cena
Família me abraça, cachorro pulando por cima
Se tem paraíso aqui embaixo
Tem terra, porteira e cheiro de mato

Crossing the Gate

Is it a lot of luck or what?
Waking up to the smell of coffee
Time to hit the road
I get a kiss that tastes like cheese bread
From someone who really cares

Before I put on my hat
I raise my hands to the sky
And thank for having so much
So much more than I deserve

It hurts to leave
Going out to do what I love
Leaving behind those I love even more

The good side of leaving is having someone to return to
I can travel the world, but I know I live in the best place
Crossing the gate, I hit the horn
It's always the same scene
Family hugs me, dog jumping all over
If there's a paradise down here
There's land, a gate, and the smell of the wild
