The First Noel
The first Noel the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Born is the King of Israel.
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East, beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued, both day and night.
And by the light of that same star
Three wise men came from country far,
To seek for a King was their intent,
And to follow the star whereever it went.
This star drew nigh to the northwest;
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest.
And there it did both stop and stay,
Right over the place whcre Jesus lay.
Then they did know assuredly
Within that house, the King did lie
One entered in then for to see
And found the babe in poverty.
Then entered in those wise men three,
Full reverently, upon bended knee,
And offered there, in His presence,
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
If we in our time do well
We shall be free from death and hell
For God hath prepared for us all
A resting place in general.

El primer Noel los ángeles dijeron
Fue a ciertos pobres pastores en los campos donde yacían;
En campos donde yacían cuidando sus ovejas
En una fría noche de invierno que era tan profunda.

Ha nacido el Rey de Israel.
Miraron hacia arriba y vieron una estrella
Brillando en el Este, más allá de ellos lejos,
Y a la tierra le dio gran luz,
Y así continuó, tanto de día como de noche.
Y por la luz de esa misma estrella
Tres sabios vinieron de lejos,
Para buscar a un Rey era su intención,
Y seguir la estrella dondequiera que fuera.
Esta estrella se acercó al noroeste;
Sobre Belén tomó su descanso.
Y allí se detuvo y permaneció,
Justo sobre el lugar donde Jesús yacía.
Entonces supieron con certeza
Dentro de esa casa, el Rey yacía
Uno entró entonces para ver
Y encontró al bebé en la pobreza.
Luego entraron esos tres sabios,
Con toda reverencia, de rodillas,
Y ofrecieron allí, en Su presencia,
Su oro y mirra e incienso.
Si en nuestro tiempo hacemos el bien
Estaremos libres de la muerte y el infierno
Porque Dios ha preparado para todos nosotros
Un lugar de descanso en general.
